BACKGROUND OF THE DEPARTMENT

The journey of the Department of Physics of Ananda Mohan College was initiated way back in 1961 in concurrence with the emergence of the independent existence of the college. Being the department of an undergraduate college it offers undergraduate pass and Honours courses. The untiring effort of our senior colleagues culminated in the introduction of Honours course in the department on 2002. Within a couple of years a modern laboratory comprising of sophisticated instruments and computers meant mostly for honours students was set up for the betterment of teaching learning process. At present the most sincere endeavor of a group of young energetic teachers together with a number of experienced senior teachers is going on for further development of the department.
